A Transformative Transition: Celebrating Daisy Han and Welcoming Our New CEO
Dear Embracing Equity Community,
We’re writing with significant news: Daisy Han, our visionary founder and CEO, will be transitioning out of her role at the end of 2024. While this is bittersweet—sweet because it reflects Daisy’s personal growth and the strength of the organization she built, and bitter because she is an extraordinary leader and human being and we will miss her greatly—we are excited to announce that Rashi Jawade will be promoted to CEO on January 1, 2025.
Daisy founded Embracing Equity from the ground up, carefully designing an innovative, community-driven approach to organizational transformation. Her passionate leadership carried us through times of challenge and rapid growth, including the COVID-19 global pandemic, the racial reckoning of 2020, a tumultuous political climate, and her own transition to motherhood. Through it all, we are incredibly grateful to Daisy for “walking the talk” and modeling a new way to think about personal and institutional transformation by infusing everything she does with an equity-first mindset. This is Daisy’s way of being, and those of us close to her are the lucky beneficiaries of learning from her bold example of what is possible.
Rashi, our beloved Chief Strategy Officer and Daisy’s right hand partner for the last five years, is uniquely positioned to continue this work and scale new heights. With a data-driven, fastidious approach, Rashi has already tripled our sales and inspired her teams. The Board is confident in her ability to lead us into a bright future grounded in our values, mission, and joy. Please join us in celebrating Rashi’s new role and in thanking Daisy for her 8 years of groundbreaking leadership. We look forward to Daisy’s continued guidance as a board member & CEO Emeritus and are thrilled for what lies ahead with Rashi at the helm.
As Board Chair, I would be remiss to sign off without a transparent call to action. We cannot do what we do without ongoing financial support. As you plan your end-of-year giving, we ask that you reflect on Embracing Equity’s future. If we reached 10,000+ participants in 8 years, how many can we reach in the next 8? Let’s dream big, collectively, the Embracing Equity way. Join me in donating today.
Onward,
Meera Sinha
