"Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary."

“Embracing Equity doesn't just focus on adding tools to build culturally relevant and responsive schools, but digs even deeper: to be both intentionally anti-racist and do the necessary work toward dismantling white supremacy. Embracing Equity should be a requirement for all education funders and school leaders!”

Equity & Anti-Racism Trainings

Embracing Equity creates brave facilitated spaces to build a solid foundation of shared language, knowledge, and practices related to anti-racism, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

We help your team deepen relationships, build trust, and improve collaboration. We meet you where you are with love and compassionate accountability instead of shame or guilt. We don't just check the box on equity, we integrate practical, personal, relational, and systems level change.

We help organizations like yours make meaningful progress towards a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment.

Building Equitable Organizations

Every organization is at a different place in their journey toward equity, diversity, and inclusion. That’s why we tailor our programs to make sure they are relevant to your unique organizational culture, needs, and goals.

Leveraging our data-informed approach, we support you and your organization to audit your current equity landscape, lead sustainable change, and measure progress over time.

“The work that Embracing Equity is doing is powerful and crucial. I've participated in a few different workforce development DEI trainings and this is, by far, the most challenging yet rewarding experience I've been part of! I feel empowered as an educator to create a more inclusive classroom community.”

“Embracing Equity has been a game-changer in my life. They have helped me to help my people understand the significance of the Yazzie vs. New Mexico Public Education Department court ruling and the ways in which our children can be seen and educated in a system that allows them to be their whole Indigenous selves inclusive of our native language and everything embedded in it...That’s why I am proud to be part of this growing movement and community.”

“I've been part of Embracing Equity’s training programs, and I've found them to be very important experiences. At Wildflower, we've used Embracing Equity as an invitation to our new team members to join us in an ongoing exploration of diversity, equity, and inclusion as it pertains to our own identities and the schools we create. Embracing Equity meets people where they are — wherever that may be — but it's also a serious program that doesn't shy away from applying a critical lens to, in our case, teaching, Montessori, Wildflower, our families and any other hard-to-discuss topic that comes up. When new people join Wildflower, it gives them the tools to engage more bravely and fully in such explorations. I'm very grateful to Daisy and the entire Embracing Equity team for creating and offering these programs."

"Embracing Equity ignited a revolution in our approach to starting innovative public schools at NewSchools. Embracing Equity was the key to unlocking potential, guiding school leaders to dismantle inequities from the start. Their impact reaches beyond theory; they equip leaders to create organizations that genuinely serve every child.”

Antonio Tapia

Former Teacher, Principal and philanthropy program officer at NewSchools

Funders
“Through love and compassion, Embracing Equity has helped our school, our teachers, our staff, and our administrators to disrupt actions, words, feelings, and beliefs that support White Supremacy and critically look at changes on an individual and systemic level that we can make to create change.”

“The world would be a better place if Embracing Equity cohorts were a universal requirement. Highly recommend this for everyone!”
